On August
31st, 1997 we lost Lady Diana, Princess of Wales.
With that in mind I offer this poem that was sent to me shortly
after her death.

Sleeping Beauty
The
eulogies are done, the clamour passed,
There isn't anymore for you to fear;
Sleeping beauty, you are safe at last,
Nothing in the world can touch you here.
No marble mausoleum marks the place,
No chilly sepulchre with angels at the door,
Only in the green woods' comforting embrace-
Sleeping beauty, safe for evermore.
And at some future time, some distant day
When our new age has sunk to history,
Legend's wings will carry you away
And shroud you in their mystery.
They'll make of you a Lady of Shalott-
A Lady of the Lake with magic powers-
Queen of Hearts, exiled from Camelot,
Sleeping underneath your quilt of flowers.
